What is the hardest thing about finding information and doing research on a topic of you personally? Did this library research course help you? In what ways did this course help you? (Or if the course didn’t help, why not? What would have been helpful and/or useful to you?

I think that everything is hard when finding information and doing research on a topic of you personally. Finding something online is hard because you have to go through different sources and collect information and that hardest or difficult thing about searching information is that you have to find out or make sure the website your on has right and true information. For me that the part that I face difficulties with, because when I go online and search for a topic I have to double check the information and the way I do it is look over some books so I can make sure that the provided information is true. And there’s a lot of ways to check if the website that you want to get information from is true or fake, for example Miss. Tina showed us the ways and one of them were check their information like phone number, address and on. After I learned how to make sure if the website you’re on is true or fake, I haven’t face any trouble finding difficulties in searching information and doing research.

I want to point one thing honestly this library course really helped me. This course helped me that not everything is found on the internet, and books are very important. This course helped me in a way that I can’t really explain because it gave me a lot of helpful information. What I really liked from this library research class was to find information that is 100% right and true is go to “Medline Pulse” am sure that when I get to college all be using this website all the time in finding and doing research. I’m happy that I took this class because this class helped me to get ready for college.

(July 2nd) comment on the following statement “since everything is on internet, I don’t need books …right?”

That is absolutely wrong!!! I think It should be “since everything is on internet, I still need books” people do need books; books are part of most people’s lives. There are a lot of reasons that people do need books: most people cannot afford to buy a computer, plus people can improve their reading by reading books, books are way cheaper than having a computer, reading books is a green way because people will not waste electricity. For example: computers waste a lot of electricity which wastes a lot of money. Plus Books give the reader a culture of greatness and provides information and benefits you in your daily life, I think that most people that read books are educated and reach high levels in science and also be promoted at work and all this because they have a culture that made them live up to the highest levels that would provides them language intact, and their minds will be full of information, heavy information that will benefit them to challenge others and engage in numerous experiments either scientific or cultural. Going back to the status “since everything is on internet, I don’t need books …right” people need books and computers, but the most highly recommended is books because computers are physically and psychologically effective. What I have read is that computers led to a lot of health problems and symptoms that may be suffering from, including pain and burning dryness in the eyes, double vision and blurry vision, headache and pain in the head, pain in the neck and shoulders, increasing the sensitivity of the limelight, and the difficulty to shift the focus of the eyes from the screen to other things.

what do you think librarians do? what do you think would be really cool if librarians started doing that? what do you think the library of the future might look like?

I think librarians help people around the library to look for their needs. Liberians shelve books in their right place so they can be easy to find. A cool thing that librarians should start doing is having research sessions for all group ages helping them with homework, projects, and information you need to know in 21st century. The library of the future would look like, using your finger print to access the library and that there are touch screen computers everywhere in the library. It can be a worldwide library you can speak to any librarian from another country asking them about the country your studying for you geography class. You can ask a computer where a book might be shelved at in the library. I think the future librarian has to provide content from a huge quantity and quality, easy to search and access to objective information, speed of search and access to objective information, the availability of the best ways to dump the information required to keep them, open to all cultures and the abolition of censorship of information, providing them of information in all formats and audio-visual and experimental. I think the future Liberian would have multiple language skills so that the librarian can deal with various containers of multilingual information. The future library should be opened 24/7 so anybody can come study at any time they want to come in. The future library should have two separated sections or floors one for the adults and one for the kids and a section for homework help.

what would you hope to study when you go to college? why?

I would hope to study in pre-med and become a doctor, I chose this major because that was the only thing I wanted to study when I was a kid. And I have always wanted to be a doctor because I realize how good it makes you feel inside when you know that you are able to help somebody. And one of my main reasons to study pre-med and to become a doctor is when I had this car accident in 2003 and I almost past out I remember people stopping by and helping me, and one of the people took me to the hospital because the ambulance was late and I was bleeding a lot. At that time being a doctor was my final thing to do when I grow up it was the only reason I wanted to do. Pulse no-one in my family studied to be a doctor they thought it was waste of time studying a lot just to be a doctor so I wanted to work hard and show them that it takes anything to reach success and I wanted to take the chance to be the first one in my family to be a doctor. When somebody is dying or in need of help and no one else is there to help but you. I love helping people and I don't care if I will have to do it all my life. And I would no longer have to watch helplessly on television but help them with my own hands. Especially when people get sick or have an injury, they pretty much look up to the doctor to help them and I want to be the one or the “doctor” to make sure they'll be ok in the long term.
